What’s Currently Haunting My Shopping Cart (and My Dreams)
/I don’t make wish lists because I’m expecting someone to surprise me with a gift. I make them as a system. A catalog of cravings. A way of keeping track of all the beautiful, cozy, quirky little things I stumble across and think, I would love that someday.
This list isn’t about impulse buys. In fact, it’s kind of the opposite. It helps me pause. Ruminate. Daydream. It’s where I stash the treasures I’m drawn to so that when the time comes and I actually do have money to spend, I can make choices that feel intentional instead of chaotic.
Some of these items will stay on this list forever like quiet little aspirations. Some will quietly disappear because the spark wore off and I realized I didn’t actually want them that badly. That’s kind of the magic of it. My wish list evolves the same way I do.
So here it is. Some of the current contents of my carefully curated cart, complete with links (not spon) in case you should feel inspired.
Leaf Sheep Plush from Build-a-Bear
Is it ridiculous that this little sea slug is the first thing on my list? Yes. Do I care? Not at all. He looks like joy personified and I want to protect him.
Powerpuff Girls Phone Case from Velvet Caviar
Some days I feel like Blossom. Other days I feel like Buttercup on a bender. Either way, this case gets me.
Neopets Monopoly
If you didn’t ruin friendships over Boardwalk, were you even a child of the 2000s? This combines my love of nostalgia and mildly aggressive competitiveness.
Lover House Building Block Set
The perfect rainy day project. Soft colors. Tiny bricks. Taylor Swift energy. This one is a must.
Colourpop Pokémon Collection
I don’t even wear a lot of colorful makeup, but this collection activated a part of my brain that still thinks Pikachu is the ultimate style icon.
Tokio Shearling Birkenstocks
These make me want to cancel plans just to stay home and admire how fuzzy my feet feel.
Ciara Trousers from Sézane
The trousers of someone who drinks wine at lunch and always has fresh flowers on her kitchen table. I aspire.
Runwell Watch Pendant from Shinola
A little vintage, a little modern, a lot of main character energy, a little piece of home (Michigan). I don’t need to know the time but I want to look like I do.
Gaia’s Sacred Garden Necklace
This one feels like it belongs in a fairy tale. I could definitely see myself wearing it while whispering secrets to a moss-covered stone.
Gardener Boots by R M Williams
They say I have somewhere to be and I’m going to show up with Australia style on my side.
Barbour Waxed Jacket
Every time I see these jackets I imagine myself brooding in the English countryside. Which is reason enough to keep it bookmarked.
Multi-Color Pearl Necklace from Polite Worldwide
This is not your grandmother’s pearl necklace. It’s like if a rainbow and a jewelry box had a love child. I’m obsessed.
Saint Louis PM Bag from Goyard
Classic. Subtle. Probably too expensive. Definitely haunting me - especially because I can customize it to be my own.
Dior Jewelry
Sometimes you just need a little sparkle to remind yourself you’re still that girl. Dior gets it and I’m on a bit of a Dior kick lately, I must admit.
Lady Dior or Dior Tote Bag
These bags are the equivalent of “I’m doing well in life” energy. I don’t own one yet but the vision is strong and I can’t wait to get my other Dior bag a friend.
Window shop like it’s a lifestyle
Or scout for something pre-loved and perfect
Custom Bag from Rough and Tumble
Locally made and fully customizable. It feels grounded and personal in a way most bags don’t. I saw these on a trip somewhere and I just can’t stop thinking about them…
Newest Collection from Cece Jewellery
I don’t know what star sign is behind these designs but I want whatever energy they’re working with.
I’ll probably end up removing a few of these in a month. Maybe I’ll add something wild like a pottery wheel or an espresso machine shaped like a penguin. Who knows. The list changes as I do. That’s kind of the point.
For now, these are the things I’m loving from a distance. I’ll keep them close in tabs and in thought until the moment comes where a little treat feels right.
And if nothing else, they make for a very pretty daydream.
